Dee Keltner
Executive Director
Dee Keltner serves as the Executive Director of River Cities Humane Society for Cats, where he oversees the organization’s daily operations, strategic direction, and lifesaving programs. In this role, he works closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and community partners to advance the shelter’s mission of improving outcomes for cats across Northeast Louisiana. His work focuses on strengthening the shelter’s operational structure, expanding programs such as Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and building sustainable systems that allow the organization to grow its impact while remaining focused on compassionate, responsible care for every animal.
Before stepping into the role of Executive Director, Dee developed a diverse background in leadership, public service, and organizational development. Affectionately known as “Papa Dee” among the staff and volunteers, he believes strongly in leading from the front, fostering a supportive team culture, and combining professionalism with a little humor along the way. Outside the shelter, he enjoys spending time with friends and family—both two- and four-legged—and attending local productions at the Strauss Theatre and performances by the Monroe Symphony Orchestra.

Michaela Taylor
Director of Communications & Development
Michaela Taylor serves as the Director of Communications and Development for River Cities Humane Society for Cats, where she leads fundraising, donor relations, marketing, and community outreach efforts that help sustain the shelter’s lifesaving work. Her role focuses on building meaningful connections between the community and the mission, from coordinating fundraising initiatives and grant writing to sharing the stories of the cats whose lives are changed every day.
Before joining River Cities, Michaela worked in nonprofit outreach and behavioral health services, where she developed a strong foundation in advocacy, program coordination, and community engagement. She brings that same passion for helping vulnerable populations to animal welfare, working to expand resources, partnerships, and programs that support both cats and the people who care for them.
Michaela grew up in a cat-loving household and has felt at home with them ever since. Today she shares her life with three cats and a very patient fiancé who understands that the cats technically outrank him.

Britt Roberts
Animal Care Coordinator
Britt Roberts serves as the Animal Care Coordinator for River Cities Humane Society for Cats, where she oversees the health and medical well-being of every cat in the shelter’s care. She conducts intake exams, administers vaccinations and treatments, monitors daily health conditions, and coordinates veterinary care to ensure each cat receives the attention it needs. Britt also trains staff and volunteers on safe handling and medical protocols, manages health records, assists adopters with medical questions, and supports foster care, spay/neuter coordination, and TNR efforts. Her work helps ensure that every cat receives compassionate, knowledgeable care from intake to adoption.
Working with animals has been a passion of Britt’s for as long as she can remember. She began her career in a small animal clinic before following her veterinarians to an emergency clinic, where she gained experience in fast-paced veterinary care. When she joined River Cities Humane Society for Cats, she discovered a deep love for helping felines and knew this was the path she wanted to pursue. Britt is passionate about helping cats and families in need, improving the quality of life for community cats, and educating others who share that same love for feline welfare. She believes that by coming together as a community, we can create a better future for cats in need of a safe place to rest their paws.
