Be Their Peace – Become a Forever Foster
At River Cities Humane Society for Cats, some of our most vulnerable residents are elderly, terminally ill, or require daily medication and specialized attention. While they may never be adopted, they still deserve something more than a shelter can offer they deserve peace, comfort, and the warmth of a real home.
Our Forever Foster Program was created for these cats. It takes a rare kind of compassion to welcome a cat who may not have much time left, but who still craves love, safety, and a quiet place to rest. These cats may be aging, medically fragile, or simply over-whelmed by shelter life. What they need most is someone to hold them, love them, and be there as they cross the rainbow bridge.
That’s where you come in. Forever Fosters are extraordinary humans who open their hearts and homes to offer these cats the comfort and dignity they deserve. The emotional journey can be difficult—but it is also filled with immense love and quiet joy.
Program Details
As a Forever Foster, You Provide:
- A calm, loving home where your foster cat can rest and feel safe
- Daily support, including administering medications as needed
- Patience, emotional strength, and the willingness to love fully—even knowing their time may be short
The Shelter Provides:
- Full coverage of medical care, including medications and vet visits
- Support and guidance throughout your foster journey
- Supplies as needed, such as food, litter, and supplements
